Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year CVICU experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Required License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, ACLS
Technology/Equipment:
EMR: Cerner
IV Pump: Plum ICU Medical
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Phillips
Unit specific equipment: Stryker beds, Philips monitors, bladder scanner, handheld ultrasounds available
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
We recover all open-heart surgery patients from the OR including, but not limited to CABG, Valve replacement or repair, Aortic Dissections, VAD insertion (temporary or destination therapy) and Heart Transplant as well as Lung Transplant. We care for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support including ECMO both VA (supports heart and lungs) and VV (supports lungs).
Patient Ratios: 1:1-2
Skills required:
All ICU skills
VAD experience, Swanz management
Floating: If yes, where? Yes, other ICUs. Usually once every couple of months, no advance notice
Orientation (facility and unit):
NEO
3 shifts on the unit
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
On call? No
Holiday Expectations: Based on unit needs
Approval of RTO: NM approval
