Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular for a high-acuity unit located in North Charleston, South Carolina. This position involves providing exceptional patient care within a 28-bed ICU, handling complex cardiovascular cases, including post-operative cardiac patients, neuro procedures, and patients on advanced hemodynamic support. The role offers an opportunity to utilize clinical expertise in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes teamwork and advanced practice skills.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications; 1 year of RN experience, with at least one year in an ICU setting; experience with Meditech documentation system; proficient in telemetry reading and ventilator management; prior CVICU experience; ability to care for up to 1-3 ICU patients on ventilators; comfortable with bedside shift report and managing complex cardiovascular patients.
- Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree; advanced certifications; TNCC certification; experience with CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, neuro procedures (e.g., aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage), EVDs, bolts, Artic Sun with induced hypothermia.
- Additional Information: The unit uses mobile phones for communication, and staff must adhere to a navy uniform dress code. Traveler candidates should be prepared to float to other units such as the emergency department or PCU as needed. The organization offers training for nurses interested in becoming skilled Neuro ICU or Cardiovascular ICU specialists and provides exposure to specialized procedures like head and neck flap care. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in telemetry, ventilator management, and advanced hemodynamic management.
