Job Summary:
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse specializing in open heart surgical patient care in Towson, Maryland. This position involves providing advanced critical care for postoperative cardiac surgery patients, including those with hemodynamic instability, open chest management, and use of specialized cardiac assist devices. The role requires flexibility to rotate among different shifts and unit needs, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Towson, Maryland
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour nights from 19:00 to 07:30, with potential rotation to other evening shifts based on unit needs
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, with schedules including weekends every third weekend and HOLIDAYS as scheduled
• Required Qualifications: Active Maryland RN license, BLS, CPI, and ACLS certifications; 2 years of ICU or CVICU experience; willingness to float to Medical Surgical ICU as needed
• Additional Qualifications: Experience with post-op cardiac care, open chest management, inotropic medications, ECMO, CRRT, and other special procedures performed in cardiac ICU
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac surgeries such as CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR, or mitral clips; prior experience with Epic charting system and community hospital settings
• Additional Information:
  • Management of patients with complex post-operative cardiac conditions including hemodynamic instability
  • Patient ratios of approximately 1:2 for critical care
  • Knowledge of vascular access, port management, and ventilator management required
  • Floating within scope is required, with no restrictions or special requests
  • 24 hours of orientation and compliance with vaccination requirements
