Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse position located at a healthcare facility. The role involves caring for postoperative cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering immediately after open heart procedures. The position requires adaptability to a night shift schedule with potential rotating days, serving adult and geriatric populations.
Job Details:
Schedule: 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Maryland RN license, BLS, CPI, ACLS certifications; 0 years of experience minimum, 2 years preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing open heart surgeries directly post-op, with familiarity in advanced cardiac care protocols.
Float: Required to Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) as needed.
Additional Information: Care includes managing postoperative patients on inotropic medications, hemodynamic instability, open chest, ECMO, CRRT, Impella, IABP, and other complex cardiac procedures. The unit has six beds and maintains a patient ratio of 1:2. The role involves caring for patients with diagnoses such as STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, and structural heart procedures, with competency in advanced monitoring and interventions.
Certification Requirements: CPI, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and OCN.
Other Requirements: Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, manage complex cardiac patients, and handle high acuity situations.
