Job Summary The organization is seeking an ICU Cardiovascular Specialty (Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular) Nurse for a night shift position. This role involves providing critical care to a diverse patient population with complex medical conditions, including sepsis, STEMI, stroke, neurosurgery, and other acute diagnoses. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment utilizing advanced monitoring and intervention techniques.
Job Details
Location: The position is based at a healthcare facility within the specified geographic area, with a radius rule of 50 miles; drivers license required at submittal.
Certification and Education Requirements: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; license to submit; minimum of 1 year of relevant ICU experience.
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
Responsibilities: Monitoring critically ill patients, managing titratable drips and advanced therapies such as balloon pumps and CRRT, performing bedside assessments, and interpreting telemetry strips. The nurse will work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 staffing, and utilize specialized equipment including vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow devices.
Additional Information: The unit emphasizes bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and embraces cultural diversity. RTO requests of seven days or less are required upfront; additional RTO approvals are not available. The unit features remote monitoring via eICU and requires a proactive, critically thinking nurse willing to learn and ask questions.
Qualifications: Must be willing to float to other hospital areas as needed; minimal experience required is 1 year.
