Job Details:
• Shifts available: Days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM), Mids (3:00 PM - 3:00 AM), or Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Schedule created on a 6-week cycle with self-scheduling
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required; first-time travelers accepted with 2 years of ED experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI/MOAB, TCRN, TNS, ENPC
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required skills: IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertion, medication titration (pressors, insulin, sedation), trauma experience, stroke experience with TPA administration; ultrasound-guided IV preferred
• All agency staff will be re-validated on ability to draw blood cultures without contamination
• Care for all ED patient types from neonates to geriatrics with an average patient load of 150 patients per 24 hours
• Patient population includes stroke (TPA administration), DKA, trauma (GSW, MVC, elderly falls), geriatric psych, abdominal pain, and STEMI cases
• Heavy behavioral health patient population
• ICU hold capabilities including EICU RN support
• Patient ratios: 1:4-6 (typically 1:4-5 during days, may flex to 1:6 at night; 1:3 when fully staffed)
• IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Ranger available for massive transfusions
• No floating to other units
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center and holds Magnet Designation, reflecting its commitment to nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. The facility operates as a Primary Stroke Center and includes a Level II NICU, offering a wide range of specialized services across 273 beds. The emergency department features 44 individual rooms, 10 hallway beds, and approximately 5 cardiac chairs, with robust 24/7 support from ED physicians, mid-level providers, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and specialized nursing roles including Task RNs, Alert RNs, and Electronic ICU RNs.
