Travel CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab Contract in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Join a specialized cardiac procedural team as a Travel CVOR Registered Nurse in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This 13-week travel nursing contract is ideal for an experienced Cath Lab RN or cardiovascular procedural nurse who is confident supporting diagnostic and interventional cases and taking call for STEMI and vascular emergencies. Albuquerque offers an inspiring high-desert setting with access to the Sandia Mountains, vibrant cultural attractions, and abundant outdoor recreation.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,350–$2,470
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiac procedural/Cath Lab unit
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Assignment End Date: January 25, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 10-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Call Requirements: 8–12 days per month, including STEMI and vascular call; weekend coverage approximately every fourth weekend
- Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Daily Census: Approximately 20–30 patients
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Travel Nurse Requirement: Applicants must reside outside the 50-mile local radius
CVOR and Cath Lab Registered Nurse Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Cath Lab, CVOR, or cardiovascular procedural nursing experience
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in New Mexico; a pending New Mexico or compact license may be considered if obtained before the start date
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- RCIS certification preferred or required as designated for the assignment
- Demonstrated ability to take call for STEMI and vascular cases
- Clinical experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Proficiency with procedural sedation monitoring and administration
- Experience with cardioversion, dysrhythmia management, left- and right-heart catheterization, and Swan-Ganz or pulmonary artery line monitoring
- Ability to circulate and scrub procedures within scope of practice
- Willingness to float to comparable units within scope when needed
Travel CVOR Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care throughout diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Prepare patients, equipment, and procedure rooms for cardiac catheterization and related interventions
- Circulate and scrub procedures while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety standards
- Monitor patients during procedural sedation and recognize changes in cardiac and hemodynamic status
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to emergent cardiac events
- Support STEMI and vascular cases during scheduled call coverage
- Perform or assist with cardioversion, catheterization procedures, and pulmonary artery line or Swan-Ganz monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care before, during, and after procedures
- Accurately document patient care and procedural information in Epic
