Job Summary Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Nurse in a healthcare facility setting. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for cardiac surgeries, including open heart procedures, TAVR, and endovascular cases. The position requires clinical expertise and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Job Details
Position: OR Open Heart Nurse (Specialty: Operating Room - Open Heart)
Location: Within 60 miles of the specified region
Schedule: Rotating shifts, 10 hours per shift, from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS preferred, minimum 2 years of experience in a similar setting, open to candidates with experience in open heart and/or endovascular cases
Experience or Skills: Open Heart experience and/or Endovascular experience, scrubbing required - RNs only to scrub into hold the heart and help close the chest
Additional Responsibilities: Cover open heart, TAVR, open/endovascular, and thoracic cases; assist with holding the heart and closing the chest; participate in rotating call and weekend schedules; float to general OR if no CVOR cases are scheduled
Schedule Details: Shifts are negotiable, with a rotation of one weekday per week and one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Team and Equipment: EpiC electronic health record system; hospital provided scrubs (light blue)
Additional Notes: The facility can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. Candidates must have a license to submit and be able to respond to call within 30 minutes.
