Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,430–$2,550
• Location: Springfield, Illinois
• Assignment Type: 13-week Cardiac Cath Lab travel assignment
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: 2–3 weekend shifts during the assignment
• Call: Required as needed
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Unit Details: Five-room adult Cardiac Cath Lab with an average daily census of approximately 25 patients
• Charting: Cerner electronic health record
• Orientation: Approximately 36 hours
• Float: Flexibility to float within scope of practice and according to organizational needs is required

Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant Registered Nurse experience
• Recent interventional Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
• Recent experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Competency with diagnostic and interventional adult cardiac catheterization procedures
• Experience with left and right heart catheterization
• Experience with pulmonary artery line and Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Proficiency in procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Availability to participate in required call coverage and weekend scheduling
• Strong adaptability, communication skills, and commitment to timely completion of travel assignment requirements

Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
• Circulate for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Assist with left heart catheterizations, right heart catheterizations, and pulmonary artery line or Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation in accordance with clinical standards
• Continuously assess patients and recognize, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias and changes in clinical status
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, procedural staff, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately in Cerner
• Support patient education, recovery, handoff communication, and continuity of care
• Participate in required call coverage, weekend rotations, and floating within the Registered Nurse's scope of practice
