Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

This position is responsible for assessing the needs of patients before and during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The RN will outline individual care plans, implement, evaluate, and document patient care during surgical procedures while providing leadership to the operating room (OR) team.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment and Care: Assess the needs of surgical patients and develop personalized care plans. Implement and evaluate these plans during procedures, making necessary adjustments to prioritize patient safety.
• Room Supervision: Supervise activities in the OR, anticipate and coordinate schedule changes, assemble required equipment and supplies, assist anesthesia as needed, and monitor the sterile field.
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with patients, their families, physicians, OR team members, supervisors/managers, and ancillary departments.
• Staff Development: Participate in staff development opportunities through in-services, educational meetings, staff meetings, and seminars to enhance leadership and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing.
• Experience in open heart procedures.
• Recent travel work history is highly preferred.
• Active Michigan RN license.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
