Cardiac Cath Lab Travel RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,660–$2,800
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Patient Population: Adult cardiac patients
- Unit Capacity: 2 procedure rooms with an average daily census of 4–8 patients
- Call Requirement: 3 on-call shifts per week, including approximately 3 single weekend call shifts per month
- Call Response: Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes when called in
- Holiday Coverage: Holidays as scheduled, including 1 holiday shift when applicable
- Floating: May be required within the specialty and to other units within scope
Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Requirements
- Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
- At least 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic or a comparable electronic medical record system
- Demonstrated ability to circulate and administer or monitor procedural sedation
- Experience with left and right heart catheterization, STEMI response, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
- Experience with temporary wires and pericardiocentesis
- Knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and reversal agents
- Ability to work scheduled call, weekend coverage, holidays, and float assignments within scope
- Current influenza vaccination is required
Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Circulate for diagnostic catheterizations, left and right heart catheterizations, STEMI cases, and PCI procedures
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation while maintaining patient safety and airway awareness
- Assist with pacemaker, Bi-V, and ICD procedures, as well as other advanced cardiovascular interventions
- Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, end-tidal CO2, activated clotting time, and response to medications
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and cardiovascular emergencies
- Support procedures involving temporary wires, pericardiocentesis, IABP management, and specialized devices as trained and credentialed
- Maintain radiation safety, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and sterile technique standards
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, anesthesia personnel, and the interdisciplinary cardiovascular care team
- Participate in scheduled call, weekend, holiday, and floating assignments as required
