Travel Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) – CVOR / Interventional Cardiology Contract in Allentown, PA
Experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurses can bring their interventional cardiology expertise to a fast-paced adult procedural unit in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This 13-week travel nursing contract is ideal for an RN with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization experience who is ready to support advanced cardiovascular procedures alongside a collaborative procedural care team. First-time travel nurses are welcome.
Located in the scenic Lehigh Valley, Allentown offers a welcoming blend of outdoor recreation, arts and culture, historic neighborhoods, and convenient access to the Philadelphia and New York metropolitan areas.
Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,750–$2,890
- Position Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse contract
- Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- End Date: February 8, 2027
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week; 40 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Primary Shift: 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with potential scheduling of 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
- Call Requirement: One night of call per week and every fourth or fifth weekend, from Friday at 6:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:30 a.m.
- Unit: Adult Cardiac Cath Lab with four procedure rooms
- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Scheduling: Block scheduling is not available
- Time-Off Requests: Must be submitted at the time of application
Cardiac Cath Lab RN Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Pennsylvania
- At least 3 years of Registered Nurse experience, including diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Previous Epic charting experience required
- Strong experience with adult cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiovascular procedures
- Ability to monitor patients receiving procedural sedation and manage complex cardiovascular medications and equipment
- Previous charge nurse experience and community hospital experience preferred
- Valid professional references and copies of required certifications
- Willingness to complete required compliance activities, including labs, Pennsylvania fingerprinting, and orientation modules
Cardiac Cath Lab RN Responsibilities
- Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care for adult cardiac catheterization patients
- Support diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including left and right heart catheterization, angiography, PCI, stent placement, TAVR, and Watchman procedures
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, procedural sedation, and recovery using appropriate clinical assessments and technology
- Manage and monitor vascular access sites, sheaths, closure systems, and post-procedure complications
- Administer IV medications, vasopressors, thrombolytics, reversal agents, and other therapies as ordered
- Assist with advanced cardiovascular devices and procedures, including IABP, Impella, cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and central venous access
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead ECGs, recognize dysrhythmias, and promptly escalate changes in patient condition
- Maintain radiation, laser, infection prevention, and patient safety standards throughout procedures
- Accurately document patient care in Epic and collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in scheduled call coverage and provide responsive care during urgent cardiac procedures
