Experienced CVOR Registered Nurse wanted for a travel nursing assignment in Burlington, Vermont, circulating for complex cardiac and open-heart procedures in a fast-paced academic surgical environment. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,920–$3,080

- Schedule: 36 hours per week with rotating 12-hour day/evening shifts; no block scheduling
- Call: One or two weekday overnight call shifts as needed, plus one full weekend of call approximately every five weeks
- Holiday Requirement: Availability to work two of the following holidays may be required: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day
- Orientation: Monday orientation schedule
- Transportation: Reliable personal or rental transportation is strongly recommended due to limited public transportation access. Seasonal all-weather or snow tires may be needed during winter months.
CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of recent operating room nursing experience, including strong cardiovascular or open-heart experience
- Recent experience in a large, academic teaching hospital environment
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Strong general operating room experience with the ability to circulate only; scrubbing is not required
- Ability to support other operating room specialties, including general, orthopedic, neurological, or ENT surgery, when needed
- Flexibility to adapt to rotating schedules, call coverage, holiday coverage, and changing unit needs
CVOR RN Responsibilities
- Circulate for cardiovascular, thoracic, and open-heart surgical procedures
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and documentation for scheduled procedures
- Maintain patient safety, sterile technique, and adherence to perioperative nursing standards throughout each case
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
- Complete accurate perioperative documentation in Epic
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Participate in scheduled weekday and weekend call coverage
- Float to other operating room suites when needed and circulate cases outside of CVOR
