Travel Nurse RN - Dialysis - $1,876 per week in Shreveport, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Dialysis Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: In-Patient Dialysis Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in In-Patient Dialysis License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CDN or CNN (preferred) Must-Have: - Must have inpatient dialysis experience - Must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival - Ability to access fistulas and dialysis catheters - Critical thinking skills - Ability to travel between facilities Description: Shifts are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with on-call responsibilities. The unit will have flexible bed availability depending on the facility. The main campus for travelers will be the primary facility, with frequent floating to additional facilities. Experience with hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is required, though peritoneal dialysis experience is not mandatory. Patient ratios are 1 nurse to 3 patients in inpatient pods and 1:1 on units. Each shift will include a charge nurse who may take patient assignments. The charge nurse will also cover responsibilities at an additional facility when needed. Orientation consists of 2 days, with time spent at each facility during hospital orientation. The schedule will alternate between four 12-hour shifts one week and three 12-hour shifts the following week. Availability for call shifts every 4 weeks is required, including Sunday call. Holidays include working two out of three major holidays. Scrub color is pewter, and additional uniform guidelines apply. Badges must be visibly worn above the waist at all times.
