Peritoneal dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy are performed at the bedside. The unit has an average daily census of 30 patients. The nurse will be required to float within scope to meet facility needs. The position will require weekend shifts every other weekend or a total of six weekend shifts per six-week period, as determined by unit needs. On-call duty is required; call is scheduled during the week and weekends. Every other Saturday is required, and scheduled call on Sunday will vary. The nurse will administer treatments in collaboration with interdisciplinary support services. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily patient visits will vary. The candidate will work with special equipment, including PrismaFlex and Fresenius machines. Experience with charting systems is preferred but not required. The nurse should possess skills to manage various complications and alarms during dialysis treatment.
