Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Dialysis and Pheresis Duration: 14 weeks Shift: First Shift Hours per Shift: 9 hours (6:30 AM - 4 PM) Experience: No experience required License: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Accepts responsibility for words, actions, attitude, and results while meeting deadlines and performance expectations. - Practices effective, clear, and respectful communication (both verbal and written) and demonstrates attentiveness through active listening and engaged body language. - Collaborates, respects, and cooperates with all coworkers, valuing differences and addressing concerns directly, while actively contributing to the vision and results of the team. - Greets all internal and external customers warmly, personally, and professionally, promoting a high level of satisfaction. - Shows understanding and knowledge of computer systems and applications or ability to be trained. - Ability to communicate and collaborate with other care team members. - Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices for all patients. Description: The RN implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person. The focus is on creating a caring environment that promotes healing and wellness. Nursing practices are based on evidence, current research, hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines. The RN coordinates, ensures, and provides direct patient care activities on the unit. This includes nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments. Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities effectively. Provides patient and family-centered education. Engages in care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable. Performs and documents comprehensive assessments following the RN's scope of practice. Considers the patient's culture, age, and developmental level. Identifies patient risk factors and presenting complaints. Collects objective and subjective patient health data. Develops a problem list, prioritizing patient needs based on input from the inter-professional team. Designs actions and interventions relevant to patient's culture and age. Determines desired outcomes in coordination with the patient and family. Explains procedures and treatments to the patient and family. Recognizes and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately. Conducts and documents ongoing assessments using the nursing process. Delegates tasks appropriately and oversees team members in performing patient care activities. Identifies and addresses educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems. Facilitates the patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner. Demonstrates active participation in unit-based activities supporting organizational values and priorities. Promotes a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions. Assures nursing excellence in accordance with accepted standards and evidence-based practices. Actively participates in department and unit quality improvement activities. Uses a holistic perspective regarding patient care.
