The candidate will be required to take overnight calls two to three times a month, with a one-hour response time for emergencies only. Every third Saturday will be required for on-call duty until Monday at 07:00. Sundays are closed, with weekend nurses available for on-call duties. The average daily census will be between three to six patients in a two-room, four-bed unit. The position requires a minimum of one year of experience in dialysis and first-timers are accepted. Every other weekend will be required. The necessary certifications include BLS and preferably ACLS. The candidate must be willing to take calls as needed and should not float within the scope to meet facility needs. Candidates will need to discuss schedule requests with management for accommodations. Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions. Additionally, candidates must ideally have no more than five days of requested time off. The client may call off up to 36 hours during the 13-week assignment without compensation for those hours. There are specific required skills in initiating and setting up dialysis treatment, as well as troubleshooting machine alarms. Experience with B. Braun Dialog systems is preferred. Teaching hospital and community hospital experiences are also preferred. This is a critical care nursing position requiring a strong understanding of dialysis treatments and patient symptom management.
