Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a travel nursing job in Valencia, California.

We are seeking an experienced DOU/PCU/Telemetry RN for a 3×12-hour day shift assignment within an MS/Telemetry Float Pool.
This role is best suited for a high-acuity stepdown RN who is comfortable floating between multiple units. The assignment will be primarily Med/Surg, with Telemetry assignments and mandatory floating to ARU and DOU based on facility needs. Patients will be assigned within the RN's scope of practice.
Assignment Details
- Position: DOU/PCU/Telemetry RN – Float Pool
- Schedule: 3×12s, Days
- Start Dates: 10/27 or 11/11
- Primary Assignment: Mostly Med/Surg with Telemetry
- Floating: Mandatory – MS/Tele, ARU and DOU
- DOU Ratio: 1:3
- ARU Ratio: 1:5
- Weekend: Every other weekend or more based on department needs; 6 weekend days per schedule period
- Sunday night is not considered a weekend
- RTO: Must be submitted upfront with the profile; no exceptions
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- PALS
Required Clinical Experience
- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
- Telemetry
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Rapid Response/Code Team experience
- Pacemaker management
- Post-MI and post-cardiac procedure care
- Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and Cardiac Surgery
- TAVR and TR Band
- Cardiac and insulin drip management, including titration
- Heparin protocols
- Central line, PICC, port and peripheral IV management
- Blood product administration
- Feeding tube and CBI management
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis management
- Procedural sedation monitoring
- CVA, intracranial bleed and neurosurgical patient care
- Seizure management and surgical drains
- Non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
- Isolation precautions/PPE
PCU/DOU/Stepdown RN who is comfortable caring for high-acuity cardiac and neurological patients and is flexible enough to work across an MS/Telemetry float pool.
