Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• At least 2 years of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications through AHA or ARC
• Recent experience caring for trauma, stroke, and chest pain patients
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency care environment
• Travel assignment eligibility may require a permanent residence more than 50 miles from the assignment location

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting to the emergency department
• Rapidly assess, prioritize, and respond to patients with emergent and time-sensitive conditions
• Care for patients experiencing trauma, stroke, chest pain, and other acute medical concerns
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established clinical protocols
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, efficient patient outcomes
• Complete accurate nursing documentation in the Medhost electronic medical record
• Promote a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered emergency care experience
