Emergency Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience required
• Active permanent Ohio nursing license or compact license in hand at time of submission
• Active AHA BLS certification required
• Active ACLS certification required
• Active PALS certification required
• Active TNCC certification required
• Active NIHSS certification preferred/required per submission requirements
• One recent reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager (ANM), supervisor, or director in the ER specialty
• Must be able to complete ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication assessments during orientation
• Required compliance items must be completed on time, including background check and fingerprinting steps

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients in an adult emergency department
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
• Administer medications, monitor patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to support efficient emergency care delivery
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain a calm, professional approach in a fast-moving clinical environment
• Follow all facility policies, safety standards, and competency requirements
