Job Summary

Emergency Room Nurse (ER) Tuscumbia, Alabama. This position involves providing high-quality emergency medical care in a busy, Level III Trauma Center with over 60,000 patients annually. The role requires adaptability to float to different units and hospitals, working in a dynamic environment to meet community needs.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Associate degree in nursing; valid American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Red Cross certifications; Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a Compact license (no temporary licenses accepted); at least 2 years of recent experience working under the highest level of professional license in a large hospital setting; trauma experience required; minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in emergency nursing and trauma care
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, as candidates must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
  • Additional Information: The position involves working in a 54-bed emergency department that is designated as Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center. The department is staffed 24/7 with a highly trained team including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff. The nurse-to-patient ratio varies from 1:1 in critical and trauma cases to 1:3-4 for other patients. The facility utilizes the Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
