Required Qualifications: Illinois Licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); 3-5 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications: Electronic Critical Response Nurse (ECRN) certification, Region 9 familiarity, experience with electronic health record updates (Epic)
Float: Float rotation may be required
Weekend Requirements: As needed
Notes: Census averages 160-180 patients daily, including many stroke and critically ill pediatric patients. The unit has 44 rooms, with each team managing 10 beds/pods. Staffing ratios support a cohesive team environment, with 1:4 or 1:6 nursing-to-patient ratios. All staff are supported geographically to ensure team cohesion.
