Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
• At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment required
• Active Maryland RN license or compact nursing license required at time of submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• Strong IV start and phlebotomy skills required
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias in a fast-paced ER setting
• Comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, including pediatrics and adults
• Cerner experience preferred
• Charge nurse, triage nurse, and preceptor experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working nights and supporting weekend coverage

Emergency Department Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with urgent and emergent medical needs
• Perform triage, patient assessments, and ongoing reassessments in the Emergency Department
• Start and maintain IVs, obtain blood samples, and support medication administration
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond quickly to clinical needs
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias as part of emergency nursing care
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate timely care
• Support safe patient flow in a busy, high-acuity emergency care environment
• Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population across all age groups
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established emergency care protocols
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused culture that supports excellent patient outcomes
