• Setting: Busy emergency department with high-volume, high-acuity patient flow
• Unit Highlights: Approximately 27 beds, about 115 visits per day, and care for patients across the lifespan

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency room nursing experience required
• At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state required at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Previous charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred
• Experience with triage, IV starts, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Cerner experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency department with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Must be available for weekend coverage and holiday rotation as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with urgent and emergent needs
• Perform charge nurse and triage duties as assigned
• Start and maintain IVs, assist with phlebotomy, and support emergency interventions
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Support new team members as a preceptor when needed
• Maintain accurate and timely charting in the electronic medical record
• Deliver compassionate care while prioritizing patient safety, speed, and clinical excellence
