Job Summary: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a busy emergency department located in an urban area. This role involves providing critical care to a diverse patient population, handling a variety of medical emergencies, and working within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The position offers an opportunity to support a unit currently in a rebuilding phase and contribute to improving staff morale and patient outcomes.
Job Details:
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); minimum of 2 years of ER experience at any trauma level; must be a team player, adaptable, and comfortable leading by example in the emergency setting
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro assessment and bedside procedures, familiarity with Cerner Electronic Medical Records system, VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) knowledge, Vistelar training specific to the organization
Support Available: 24/7 charge nurse coverage, management, ER physicians and midlevel providers, CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), RT (Respiratory Therapist) available around the clock, hospitalist and intensivist coverage, in-department CT/X-ray technology
Technology/Equipment: Cerner EMR, IV Pump, Phillips monitors, U/S (Ultrasound), VAD equipment
Orientation: 2 days of unit-specific orientation
Floating: No floating required
Other Notes: Scrub color for RN is royal blue; parking is available free with garage access; unit currently in a rebuilding phase, working to stabilize staffing and morale; flexible schedule with about a months notice prior to the 6-week schedule cycle; holidays assigned based on unit needs, with a holiday rotation schedule
