Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This position is essential in ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality treatment in our emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient triage and prioritize care based on clinical needs.
• Perform IV starts and phlebotomy procedures efficiently.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as required.
• Provide care for patients, including those with potential exposure to infectious diseases.
• Collaborate with medical personnel to devise care plans and ensure effective management of emergencies.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation, as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• At least 1 previous travel assignment in a nursing role.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH, and PALS.
• Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, TNCC.
• Charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred, but not mandatory.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Skills

• Strong skills in triage, charge nurse duties, IV starts, and phlebotomy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Unit Information

This emergency department handles approximately 150 visits per day with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.

Additional Information

Scrubs are required; Navy Blue is the designated color. Clinicians will receive training on the unit prior to being designated as charge nurse. All team members may come into contact with COVID-19 patients.
