Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Utica, New York.
Job Summary – Emergency Department (ED) RN
- Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
- Shift: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
- Unit: Emergency Department (64 beds, including Triage, Acute, Super Track, Trauma, CDU, and Psych areas)
- Patient Population: Newborns, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics
- Common Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure
- Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun
- Required Drips & Medications:
- Pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine)
- Vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG)
- Anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine)
- Sedation (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl)
- Other critical meds (TNK, Heparin, Insulin)
- Care Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to all assigned ED patients, including SANE cases
- Care for patients of all ages and acuity levels
- Floating to other units as required
- Charge Nurse Capability: Highly preferred
- EMR: EPIC experience required
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (all current, AHA)
- Licensure: Active NY RN license (verified via NURSYS)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years ED RN experience, including PEDS
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Other Requirements:
- Skills checklist matching specialty
- Up-to-date resume with travel and ED experience documented
- Drivers license (address must match application demographics)
- Willingness to float and work flexible scheduling (block scheduling not guaranteed)
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- RTO (Requested Time Off) must be provided at submission
- Location Requirement: Must live 75+ miles from facility (locals accepted at local rate)
