Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse (ER) Des Moines, Iowa. This position involves providing emergency nursing care across multiple campuses within the organization. The role requires rapid staffing, adherence to safety protocols, and flexibility to float across all campuses, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran. The ER nurse will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population and performing specialized procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 15 months of recent emergency medicine experience, experience with drips including sedations, vasoactive agents, and required proficiency in reading tele strips. Must have recent Level I trauma experience, a current Iowa/IA license or multistate license, and active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications. Also, experience with EPIC electronic medical record system is necessary.
- Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS certification is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding. Trauma nursing core course (TNCC) is required.
- Additional Information:
- Must be able to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
- Candidates should have recent travel experience in emergency settings.
- The role requires floating across all campuses within the organization.
- Orientation sessions are scheduled for 8/31, 9/14, and 9/28, with earlier start dates preferred.
- Call back rate is 1.5x with a minimum of 2 hours, and on-call pay is $9 per hour.
- Must have a recent performance evaluation from within 24 months.
