Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to critically ill and injured patients in a fast-paced environment, while adhering to the highest professional standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Administer medications and IV treatments as ordered, including blood product administration.
• Perform EKG readings and monitoring to assess and respond to patient conditions.
• Utilize triage techniques to prioritize and manage patient needs effectively.
• Maintain appropriate infection control and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Proficient in intravenous (IV) skills and management of CVA patients.
• Experience with Meditech charting preferred.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for night shifts from 1900 to 0700, with a commitment to working every other weekend.

Work Environment

The Emergency Department is equipped to provide immediate care to patients in critical condition. The team consists of emergency physicians and nursing staff who are specially trained to handle a variety of medical emergencies.
