Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive emergency care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the highest standard of patient care is delivered. This role requires critical thinking, effective communication skills, and the capacity to function well under pressure.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Establish IV access and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team in developing and implementing patient care plans.
• Participate in triage and prioritize care based on patient needs.
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical care when necessary.
• Document patient information and maintain accurate health records.
• Assist in charge responsibilities after relevant training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Completion of at least 1 previous travel assignment.
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS.
• Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, TNCC.
• Skills in IV starts and phlebotomy are required.
• Experience with Cerner, charge, triage, and precepting preferred.

Work Environment

• Work in an environment with around 150 patient visits per day.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.
• Scrubs not provided; navy blue scrubs are required.
• Be prepared to encounter patients with COVID-19.

Schedule

This position requires night shifts of 4x12 hours, with on-call duties every other weekend and potential holiday rotations.

Additional Information

Proof of flu vaccination is required for all employees.
