Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform charge and triage duties, ensuring efficient patient flow and prioritization of care.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy, including IV starts and phlebotomy.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.
• Participate in training new clinicians and support nursing staff.
• Assist in the management of patient visits, averaging 150 visits per day.

Shifts

This position requires night shifts of three 12-hour rotations per week, from 19:00 to 07:00.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Completion of at least one previous travel assignment.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, NIH, and PALS is required.
• CPI, MAB, and TNCC certifications are preferred.
• Experience in charge and triage roles is preferred but may consider candidates without charge experience.
• Proficiency in Cerner is preferred.

Working Conditions

Clinicians may come into contact with COVID-19 patients. Scrubs are not provided; the required scrub color is navy blue. Additionally, call duties are expected every other weekend and on holidays as necessary.

Patient Ratios

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, ensuring optimal care and attention to each patient.

Training and Support

All clinicians will receive comprehensive training on the unit before they are expected to work in a charge capacity.
