Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for an exciting opportunity in the Emergency Department (ED). This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, addressing critical situations while collaborating with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency department.
• Perform clinical procedures and administer medications as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to work 13-week contracts with night shifts of 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend availability is required, with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs. Note that block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, and every other holiday must be worked. Time off around Labor Day cannot be approved.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice; pending Virginia licenses will be considered.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications are required; TNCC certification can be submitted as pending, but must be obtained prior to the start date.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a Level 1 trauma center or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma center, with some pediatric experience.

Additional Information

Time off requests are limited to a maximum of 40 hours. This position is suited for motivated nurses who thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment.
