Job Summary: Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a rural healthcare facility. This role involves providing care to a diverse geriatric and adult patient population, including trauma, chronic illness exacerbation, and post-acute recovery. The position offers rotating 12-hour shifts, supporting a team-based approach within a critical access setting.
Job Details:
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
Education & Experience: Valid RN license, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in emergency nursing or similar setting
Location Requirements: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility
Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Responsibilities: Managing patient care in the ER, including trauma patients, geriatric and chronic illness cases, electrolyte management, blood and IV medication administration, and wound care. RNs are required to interpret strips and titrate drip medications such as electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, and blood transfusions.
Support & Staffing: Each shift is supported by nurse aides/CNA, with a charge nurse supervising team assignments. No floating required, support staff includes respiratory equipment management, but RNs do not troubleshoot RT equipment.
Additional Information: Team nursing model utilized; team and block scheduling available upon request; shifts scheduled from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM; no call or standby duties; no physician or nurse manager oversight involved in individual assignments.
