Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse (RN) position available in Martinsville, Virginia. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages in a full-service, acute-care hospital. The position is scheduled for night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, offering an opportunity to work in a well-respected facility known for comprehensive emergency services.
Job Details:
- Location: 320 Hospital Drive, Martinsville, VA 24112
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 hours, with as-needed weekend coverage and call requirements
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as an RN in Virginia, current certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) / Handle with Care, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Plus 1-2 years of emergency room experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with common emergency diagnoses such as chest pain, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and psychological conditions; professional, positive, compassionate attitude; team-oriented personality
- Additional Information: The emergency department features 34 beds, patient ratios of 1:5, and serves all age groups. The unit uses Medhost electronic health record system. The position requires compliance with safety protocols including certification completion prior to start and consent for drug screening and criminal background checks.
