Job Description
We are seeking an experienced ER/Med-Surg Registered Nurse to join a Critical Access Hospital for a 13-week travel assignment. This role requires a flexible nurse who is comfortable caring for patients across multiple units, including the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical floor.
As a member of a small rural healthcare team, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating closely with nurses, LPNs, CNAs, and on-call crisis staff.
Typical Unit Environment
- Average inpatient census: 3–5 patients (occasionally up to 7–8)
- Typical staffing:
- 3 Nurses + 1 CNA per shift
- Occasionally 2 Nurses + 1 CNA
- May include 1 RN and 1 LPN working together
- Patient assignments are shared among staff.
- ER responsibilities are typically shared across the nursing team.
- Dedicated Crisis Nurse On-Call available every night for additional support.
Requirements
- Active RN License
- Recent experience in both Emergency Room and Med-Surg
- Both specialties must be listed on the work history at the time of submission
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- TNCC (Required)
- NRP (AHA) preferred
- Must already have certification or provide proof of a scheduled class before submission
- Experience working in a Critical Access or rural hospital is preferred.
