Job Description

This position requires the ability to assess, implement, and monitor patient care for outpatients assigned to observation status.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs: Provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care, adhering to accepted standards of nursing practice. (30%)
• Direct patient care: Administer medications, perform treatments, respond to call lights, assist with patient transfers, and attend to alarm alerts. (30%)
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness: Assess the treatment plan's effectiveness and collaborate with the healthcare team to update or revise the plan as necessary, utilizing current information to enhance patient care. (20%)
• Process physician orders: Accurately and efficiently process physician/provider orders and complete assigned care tasks in a timely manner. (10%)
• Follow up on medication changes: Manage and clarify any changes in medications as necessary. (10%)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of observation experience.
• Epic EMR experience is preferred.
• Current and active Michigan nursing license.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Work Requirements

• 36-hour weekly guarantee.
• Availability to work every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
