Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in a trauma center setting. This role involves managing a diverse patient population with common diagnoses such as cardiac issues, stroke, sepsis, and respiratory conditions. The position requires providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment, handling various emergency cases, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams over a scheduled shift of 12 hours during days, with an expected minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:

- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure with a compact or Washington State license, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC certifications, 2 years of experience in a larger trauma setting, and NIHSS certification. No experience requirement listed; candidate must have at least 1 year of relevant emergency department experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a busy trauma or emergency setting, prior experience with Epic electronic medical record system, and familiarity with equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and ABGs.
- Additional Information: The unit features a separate triage area with 5 beds and a dedicated holding area with 18 beds for inpatient overflow. There are six private treatment rooms in a locked hall for psychiatric or seclusion needs. Staff includes ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and in-house security. Emergency Department patients range from low to high acuity, with patient volumes approximately 170-200 daily. Staffing ratios are typically 1:3, sometimes 1:4 for less acute patients. Role involves draw labs, assist with imaging, monitor vital signs, and provide emergent treatments including breathing therapy. No call or standby shifts required, and float is limited.
- Scheduling: 12-hour day shifts starting 10/12/2026 through 01/11/2027, with every other weekend work and required holiday coverage in November and December.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC.
- Other Notes: No RTO will be approved for the first full week of assignment. The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment. Orientation involves one day of compliance training and a second day of department-specific onboarding.
