• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, primarily 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM or 11:30 AM - 12:00 AM; occasional 3:30 PM - 4:00 AM shifts
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Additional Notes: No local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience required
• 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certification, or willingness to complete approved de-escalation training onsite
• Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
• Copy of nursing diploma or transcript required
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to remain calm in a high-acuity emergency department environment
• Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients in a busy emergency department
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient responses to treatment
• Administer medications and therapies according to nursing standards and facility procedures
• Support triage, stabilization, and emergency interventions for patients ranging from neonates to adolescents
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the broader care team to coordinate effective patient care
• Assist with rapid response support and charge nurse coverage on the night shift as needed
• Utilize pediatric emergency equipment and electronic charting systems efficiently and accurately
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and a calm, reassuring presence for children and families
