Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Healthcare Setting: 43-room Emergency Department serving ESI Levels 1–5
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950–$2,060
  • Start Date: October 19, 2026
  • Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 16, 2027
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
  • Call: None
  • Orientation: Department-specific onboarding and supervised clinical orientation
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 140–191 patients per day
  • Typical RN Ratios: 3:1 or 4:1; boarded patients may be 5:1 or 6:1
  • Charting and Equipment: Cerner, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
  • Scrub Color: Ceil blue
  • Floating: No

Emergency Department RN Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department Registered Nurse experience
  • Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Ohio
  • Associate degree or nursing certificate
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and emergency response skills across all ESI acuity levels
  • Ability to care for adult and pediatric emergency patients; pediatric cases represent less than 10% of the department's volume
  • First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Travel ED RN Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, timely, and compassionate emergency nursing care to patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and behavioral health emergencies.
  • Assess and manage patients presenting with chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, stroke symptoms, abdominal pain, injuries, abnormal laboratory results, psychiatric emergencies, sepsis, and altered mental status.
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, rhythm recognition, EKG acquisition, stroke assessments, and rapid escalation of critical findings.
  • Manage high-acuity patients receiving mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, vasopressors, insulin infusions, procedural sedation, and blood products.
  • Initiate and participate in sepsis protocols, rapid fluid resuscitation, stroke-alert care, and emergency interventions.
  • Perform or assist with IV insertion and blood draws, blood culture collection, Foley catheter placement, chest tube management, arterial line insertion, airway management, and intubation.
  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, laceration care, and assistance with suturing or stapling.
  • Recognize and respond to hemorrhage, anaphylaxis, seizures, acute allergic reactions, and other rapidly changing conditions.
  • Maintain suicide precautions, behavioral health safety measures, and appropriate restraint monitoring when indicated.
  • Participate in Code Blue events and pediatric emergency or pediatric code management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, charge nurses, educators, and the multidisciplinary care team to support efficient patient flow and high-quality patient outcomes.
