Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse is needed in Seattle, Washington. This role involves working within a full-service emergency department that handles a high volume of patients with diverse diagnoses, including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health issues. The ER is a comprehensive Level III Trauma Center with a capacity of 17 beds, expandable to 22, and operates 24/7 with in-house security and staff. The successful candidate will provide critical patient care during night shifts, contributing to the teams mission of respectful and efficient service delivery.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, starting at 7 pm, 9 pm, 11 pm, 1 am, 3 am, or 7 pm, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule is typically fixed but may be adjusted with prior notice.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS; acceptable drivers license; and a minimum of 1 year of ER experience. No specific educational degree requirements are specified. Location requirements include being licensed or willing to wait to submit license; candidates must have at least 0 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in behavioral health, prior traveler assignment(s), and proficiency in managing common drips such as insulin, cardiac, sedation, and critical medication infusions.
- Additional Information:
- ER team includes ED technicians performing EKGs, blood sugar testing, monitor management, and ADLs.
- RN responsibilities include drawing labs, troubleshooting RT equipment like vents and CPAP/BiPAP, and performing breathing treatments.
- RNs are responsible for monitoring Phillips telehealth monitors and may be required to read strips.
- Transport duties, including patient movement within the ER, are handled by both ER staff.
- An orientation shift of one 12-hour shift with experienced ER RN staff will be provided before the assignment begins.
- The department operates a fast-track system and allows experienced travelers to perform triage.
- There are 4 designated psych rooms, and security is present 24/7 in the ER.
- The unit requires a respectful, team-oriented approach, with accountability and a positive team environment highly valued.
- This role involves working every other weekend and some holidays, with no call or standby requirements.
- The assigned start date is August 24, 2026, at the address 1100 9th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101.
