Key requirements

• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours/week guaranteed
• 2+ years ED experience
• At least 1 year trauma-center experience
• Previous travel experience required — no first-time travelers
• Epic ASAP experience — absolutely required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC
• Weekend: every other weekend
• Holidays: required
• No call/standby
• No floating
• Royal Blue scrubs
• Cancellation: 1 shift per 2-week period
• RTO: up to 10 days can be requested without hospital approval; >10 days or holidays require approval

ED overview

• 55 beds + 8–12 swing beds
• 4 trauma bays
• ~250 patients/day
• 4 zones
• Ratios:
  • Main ED: 4:1
  • Accelerated Care/fast track: 5:1
  • Critical care: 2:1
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms with 24/7 monitor tech
• In-house security
• Common cases include STEMI, stroke, DKA, sepsis, trauma, respiratory disease, and behavioral health
• RNs manage their own holds
• Travelers generally do not triage unless they complete additional orientation/competency
• Epic EMR

Important disqualifiers

Do not submit if the candidate has known license hits involving:

• Diverting medications
• Endangerment

Those can result in immediate contract cancellation.
