Job Summary:
The Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position is based in Franklin, Indiana. The role involves providing acute care in a busy ER setting with a focus on patients presenting with conditions such as abdominal pain, altered mental status, stroke, chest pain, and more. The ER operates 24/7 and handles an average of 60 patients per day, requiring experienced nurses capable of managing multiple high-acuity cases.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule is six weeks rotating, with staff self-scheduling and the manager balancing shifts.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); a minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience; valid license to practice.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
  • Additional Information: The ER unit is a Level 3 trauma designation with 26 beds and three trauma bays. The ED includes a treatment area with four beds, and there is a designated lower ligature risk seclusion room with a camera. Security staff are present 24/7. Emergency Equipment such as ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen devices are available. RN staff monitor telemetry strips, and radiology staff transport critical patients for imaging. The unit typically uses Cerner as the electronic charting system. Staffing includes physicians, mid-level providers, nurse aides, medics, and patient sitters, with cross-functionality around procedures like IV placement, EKG, and lab draws. The ER team is committed to punctuality and full-time engagement during the contract period.
