Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Tacoma, Washington. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level II Trauma Center with a focus on adult and pediatric patients experiencing various critical and serious health issues. The role is suited for experienced ER nurses ready to engage in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment starting in early November.

Job Details

• Position Description: ER Nurse at a Level II Trauma Center with an average of 140-150 patients per day, including trauma, GSW, sepsis, COVID, STEMI, Stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, adult psych, and chest pain.
• Certifications and Experience: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB certifications; minimum 0 years of experience required, with strong ED background preferred.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Responsibilities: Support on the unit includes ER tech glucose checks, assisting with splinting, and occasionally supporting resource/float nursing staff. Orientation begins the first day with badge issuance, Epic training if needed, and meeting with the educator, followed by a 12-hour shift with a preceptor.
• Support & Resources: 24/7 support teams including security, house supervisor, pharmacy, and ED educator.
• Charting & Equipment: Epic electronic medical record system, IV pumps (Alaris), Pyxis medication dispensing system, telemetry monitoring, and telehealth support.
• Additional Notes: First-time traveler not required; scrub colors are flexible; parking is free; modest/stud piercings, non-offensive tattoos are permitted.
• Scheduling Notes: Shifts will be assigned as day, mid, or night, with possible switch during the contract, but same shift for a 6-week block. Up to 5 days off are permissible, with some major holidays required.
