Travel Nursing Job Details

• Patient Assignment: Approximately 1:4 ratio
• Floating: May be required within the nurse’s skill set

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Current CPI, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Experience caring for adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Strong assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Epic electronic health record charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled
• Comfort working in a high-acuity Emergency Department and floating within scope when needed

Emergency Department Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients
• Provide care for patients with medical, surgical, behavioral health, traumatic, and pediatric emergencies
• Recognize and respond to time-sensitive conditions, including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, respiratory failure, dysrhythmias, overdose, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, vasopressors, and procedural sedation as appropriate
• Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, central lines, chest tubes, and continuous monitoring
• Perform and interpret focused emergency assessments, 12-lead ECGs, dysrhythmia monitoring, and arterial blood gas results
• Support airway management, intubation, seizure care, trauma stabilization, and other emergent interventions
• Manage patients experiencing acute psychosis, suicidal ideation, violent behavior, or other behavioral health crises using safe de-escalation practices
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Collaborate with providers, interpretation services, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, efficient patient outcomes
