Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Job – Night Shift in Glen Burnie, Maryland

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000–$2,110
• Assignment Length: 12 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 11, 2027
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays as scheduled
• Healthcare Setting: High-volume, non-trauma Emergency Department with approximately 66 rooms/beds and about 200 visits per day
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:4, with up to 1:5 for lower-acuity assignments; the ED hold/observation area may have ratios of 1:5–1:6
• Additional Coverage: A 10-bed ED hold/observation area is staffed by the Emergency Department team
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Call: No prescheduled on-call shifts

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• First-time travel nurses are welcome with strong Emergency Department experience
• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Current CPI certification and NIHSS certification
• Community hospital experience required
• Previous experience with patient ratios of approximately 1:4–1:5
• Epic electronic medical record charting experience preferred
• Comfort caring for patients of all ages and managing complex emergency diagnoses
• Ability to float within the Emergency Department specialty, including the hold/observation area, as needed
• Required annual influenza vaccination; no exemption available

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessment, triage, ongoing reassessment, and emergency nursing interventions for patients across the lifespan
• Care for patients presenting with high-acuity and complex conditions in a busy, non-trauma Emergency Department
• Manage emergency medications, IV therapy, blood products, ventilated patients, central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and continuous infusions
• Recognize and respond to cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, infectious, psychiatric, toxicologic, and multisystem emergencies
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead ECGs, interpret ABGs, and support stroke and STEMI response processes
• Provide care for patients requiring procedural sedation, respiratory support, insulin or vasopressor protocols, and other emergency interventions
• Support patients experiencing behavioral health crises, suicidal ideation, overdose, abuse, or other safety concerns
• Provide emergency nursing care in the ED hold/observation area when assigned
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, laboratory, IV services, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient education accurately in the electronic medical record
