Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients in the Emergency Room (ER) setting. This role utilizes critical thinking and independent judgment throughout all phases of the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
• Engage in the nursing process: assess patient conditions, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Direct and supervise the nursing care team, which includes Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and other healthcare technicians.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.
• Document all aspects of patient care, including patient status, responses to treatment, and progress notes in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
• Experience with the Cerner electronic medical records system.
• Charge nurse experience is required.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• Active certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association.
• TNCC certification is preferred.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts from 1 PM to 1:30 AM, with alternating weekends.
• Availability for holiday coverage is expected.
