Job Summary Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Bakersfield, California. This position involves delivering high-quality, coordinated nursing care to emergency department patients. The ER Nurse supervises and directs nursing staff, collaborates with healthcare teams, and employs critical thinking and independent judgment to ensure patient safety and care excellence during night shifts.
Job Details
Schedule: Night shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; acute care facility experience preferred; current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor required.
Preferred Qualifications: Recent Emergency Department (ED) experience required; more than 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
Essential Functions: Collects relevant patient data; analyzes assessment findings; develops and implements care plans; evaluates progress and modifies care as needed; collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare teams; provides patient education; participates in discharge planning; delegates tasks appropriately; performs other related duties.
Additional Information: The position requires Epic electronic health record (EHR) system experience. Facility will not accommodate block scheduling or any special scheduling requests; staffing will be based on departmental needs.
