Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Colorado
• At least 1 year of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Critical access hospital experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification or equivalent
• Current TNCC certification preferred or required according to facility standards
• Ability to work night shifts, call shifts, holidays, and in an on-site emergency care environment

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care from patient admission through discharge or transfer
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized patient care plans
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly using established emergency department protocols
• Provide patient care in accordance with BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and other accepted clinical standards
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to support safe, timely patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and discharge or transfer information accurately
• Participate in scheduled call coverage, holiday coverage, and emergency department operations
