Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Hazel Crest, Illinois.

$500 CONTRACT COMPLETION BONUS

Job Details:
• Minimum 3+ years of emergency room experience required; 1 year of travel experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of ED experience
• Variable start times depending on requisition
• Schedule made in 6-week increments, received 1-2 weeks prior to start; no self-scheduling and block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Every other weekend rotation required; back-to-back weekends are rare
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday expectations: Summer - 2 of 3 holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th); Winter - 1 from each group: {Thanksgiving Day or day after}, {Christmas Eve or Christmas Day}, {New Year's Eve or New Year's Day}
• Patient ratio of 1:5; 5th patient will be low acuity during surge times
• Care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics with diagnoses including minor traumas, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, cardiac issues, chest pain, neurological issues, and altered mental status
• Travelers are not expected to work in the triage area
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS preferred
• Required skills: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, strong IV skills, basic ED knowledge of drips and medication administration, and obtaining EKGs
• EMR: EPIC experience preferred
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and bedside and central monitors
• Orientation includes a few hours with an educator for system access and modules, followed by 1-2 shifts on the unit
• No floating required
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Free parking available in designated areas
• No artificial fingernails or extenders permitted during direct patient care; natural nail tips must be kept less than ¼ inch long
Facility:
This teaching hospital operates a 24-bed emergency department that sees an average of 115 patients per day. The facility has 231 beds total and provides comprehensive emergency care without a trauma designation. The department is supported by ER technicians, a charge RN, rapid response team, phlebotomy services for difficult draws, and hospitalists to ensure well-rounded patient care.
