Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Franklin, Indiana. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a busy emergency department, supporting a variety of patient needs including trauma, stroke, chest pain, and pediatric cases. The ER Nurse will be responsible for delivering patient care, managing trauma bays, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and effective treatment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, or 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM. The schedule spans six weeks with self-scheduling options, with the first schedule covering fill-in needs.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse; minimum of 3 years of recent ER experience; certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; must have worked with Cerner system within the last year; experience with IV placement, rhythm interpretation, and boarding patients in an emergency setting; ability to float to Medical/Surgical and Critical Care units as needed; flexibility to orient to ER and other departments; ability to work every third weekend and be flexible for holidays.
- Preferred Qualifications: TNCC and ENPC certifications.
- Additional Information: The role involves managing 26 beds with 3 trauma bays, including a treatment area with four beds and a lower ligature risk seclusion room with camera. In-house security is available 24/7, and telemonitoring is implemented for patient safety. The ER handles approximately 60 patients daily, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. The team works closely with emergency physicians, mid-level providers, RT staff, and other healthcare professionals. Nurses will participate in charting using the Cerner system and are expected to demonstrate punctuality and commitment to the contract terms.
